Thursday's attacks in Sudan's Kordofan state claimed 114 lives, according to the World Health Organization's director-general. More than 60 of the victims were children.

"Repeated attacks in Sudan's South Kordofan state hit a kindergarten and, at least three times, the nearby Kalogi Hospital," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote on X.

According to Tedros, paramedics and rescue workers were attacked as they tried to transfer the injured from the kindergarten to the hospital. Tedros condemns the “senseless attacks on civilians and health facilities.”

Another 35 people were injured in the attacks, which the paramilitary RSF had previously been accused of being behind.
