The Serbian guard was selected twelfth overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2024 draft despite having torn his ligament two months earlier.
Last year, he participated in the Thunder's preseason, but was subsequently diagnosed with testicular cancer.
In his debut on Monday night, the Oklahoma City Blue beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the G League. He had seven points and seven assists in 16 minutes.
Thunder coach Daigneault praised Topic ahead of Oklahoma's game against the Lakers.
"It's hard to say enough about him as a person, his mental strength, maturity and resilience," Daigneault said.
