In North America, the film grossed around SEK 310 million in its biggest opening weekend of the year so far. Internationally, the film has grossed around SEK 375 million in 76 countries. After the American long weekend with Monday's Presidents' Day, the total is expected to reach SEK 731 million, which almost covers the production budget of around SEK 712 million.
The film, based on Emily Brontë's novel and directed by Emerald Fennell, stars Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie and has, however, divided critics. "Wuthering Heights" is sitting at a low 61 percent on the critics' database Rotten Tomatoes.
