Success after injury – hat-trick by Blomqvist

Back after a long-term injury, Rebecka Blomqvist is succeeding on the football pitch. Two goals for the national team two weeks ago. And now three goals in Wolfsburg's 5–0-crush against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old Swede scored 2–0, 3–0 and 4–0. And had a ball in goal even at the beginning of the match, which was ruled out due to offside.

The second goal is probably the favorite, but the last one was also okay. A goal is a goal, so I'm happy for all, says Blomqvist according to Uefa's website.

5–0 is a good result. It's important to win, because we want to reach the quarterfinals.

The goals were her first in Champions League context for Wolfsburg. And the first in the European Cup since she scored for Göteborg in the autumn of 2019.

The match in Istanbul was also her first 90 minutes after the cruciate ligament injury she suffered in September last year.

A year later, she was back. And 1.5 months after her comeback in her German club, she also got the chance in the national team again.

In the European Championship qualifying match against Luxembourg, she was substituted in after 30 minutes of play in the second half and three minutes later scored the 7–0 goal, and later also the 8–0 goal.

Despite the win, Wolfsburg remains in third place in Group A with three points after three rounds. Lyon tops with nine and Roma has six points.

In Group B, Real Madrid won over Twente with a whole 7–0. Swedish national team midfielder Filippa Angeldal played the entire match for Real Madrid.

Chelsea defeated Celtic with 2–1. Zecira Musovic guarded Chelsea's goal and had Nathalie Björn in front of her in the backline. In the second half, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd came in, but remained goalless.

There are also Swedish connections in Celtic, which is coached by Elena Sadiku.

Chelsea tops Group B with nine points ahead of Real Madrid on six and Twente on three. Celtic is without points.
