The abuse is said to have taken place between 2020 and 2025. The man, who is in his 30s, was working as a substitute teacher at a school in Gävleborg County at the time. He is suspected of having remotely encouraged the victims to abuse themselves. The crime was discovered after a girl reported what she had been subjected to, and police raided the man's home.
Among the seizures, additional material was found involving a large number of girls who had sent material to him, prosecutor Mattias Vilhelmsson previously told Expressen.
In those seizures, 27 girls were identified. He has now been sentenced by Gävle District Court to seven years in prison for, among other charges, 16 counts of rape against girls aged nine to 14.
