Their ballad "Dover-Calais" brought modern pop into Mello, it says in the motivation. During Saturday's qualifying round in Gothenburg, the group was hailed, with Tommy Ekman and Gigi Hamilton in place to receive the award.
"I am deeply moved and incredibly grateful that our song has been inducted into Melodifestivalen's Hall of Fame. To receive this honor means more than I can put into words. Music is timeless and this is not the end, but just another chapter in a story we continue to write together", says Gigi Hamilton in a press release.
Melodifestivalen's Hall of Fame was established in 2020 to honor and highlight memories in the program's long history.
