The first day of school after Friday's sword attack at Brinell School in Fagersta is marked by shock and sadness.
Students dressed in black stream into Risbroskolan elementary school, which is located next to Brinellskolan, where the attack took place.
"We wear black to show our participation," says one of the students, Avesta Mohammed.
Students at Risbro School describe fragments of memories from the minutes after Friday's attack. Memories that are now resurfacing as they are back at school.
We saw police and a helicopter. My friends were crying, screaming and trying to get in touch with their siblings who go to Brinell School, says Avesta Mohammad.
Bloody people
Her friend Ramin Ali fills in:
We saw people covered in blood running from Brinell School to Risbro School screaming for help, and the teachers tried to help.
The tragic incident could just as easily have occurred at Risbro School, says Ramin Ali.
It doesn't feel safe at school anymore.
Being back at school on Monday feels strange, the students think. Many walked together after class to the memorial site. There they stopped to light candles, lay flowers and hold each other.
Everyone will think about what happened and how tragic it is, says Avesta Mohammed, adding that as a student you will now be in constant fear of perhaps having to run from someone in your school.
Liliana Omar, in turn, describes an unreal feeling.
"It doesn't feel like it's true. This shouldn't be happening," she says.
Housed in classrooms
Another student, Jack Danielsson, gives his recollection of the minutes after Friday's attack.
"A student came in and screamed that someone had died at Brinell High School. Then we were taken in and sat there for three hours in the classroom," he says.
Jack Danielsson does not know the victims, but knows who they are.
It feels desolate, empty and very tragic, he says.
