Martina Gradian, press spokesperson for the police, told the newspaper that a youth under the age of 18 threw a piece of fruit at the Speaker.
Gradian told SVT Öst it was a banana.
The Speaker's bodyguards intervened and took the student into custody. According to the newspaper, the student is suspected of molestation. The banana reportedly hit the Speaker in the upper body, according to NT.
"I don't think you're following the democratic rules when I'm treated like this. I've come here and answered your questions and tried to do it as honestly as I can. I think I deserve to be treated with the same respect I've shown you," Norlén told the newspaper.
