Stubb says there is no evidence Russia will test NATO Article 5

Among others, Sweden's Supreme Commander Michael Claesson has warned that Russia may want to test NATO's preparedness earlier than previously thought. But, according to Stubb, it is neither logical nor reasonable that Russia would do so at a time when Russia is under heavy pressure in the war in Ukraine.

If the purpose is to prepare the population, increase the defense budget, or strengthen the defense industry, so be it. But such statements must be based on facts, and I see none.

He urges his European colleagues to follow the Finns' example.

Go to the sauna, take a dip in the ice cave and stay calm. We keep a cool head - and mind you, we are the ones who have the border with Russia. We will manage.
