Strike notices have been issued for the Balearic Islands since the wage negotiations between the hotel and restaurant industry and the unions broke down, writes the Spanish newspaper El País.
The notice applies to five selected days in July, starting on July 10 and then on the 18th, 19th, 25th and 31st of July.
More than 180,000 employees will be affected by the strike, which will affect hotels, bars, restaurants, cafes and nightclubs on the islands.
The trade unions have demanded wage increases for their members of 16 percent over three years, while the employers have offered 11 percent.
