All three Swedish teams have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions Hockey League. Brynäs did so after an overtime drama away against Bern. Both Luleå and Frölunda lost their rebounds – but advanced anyway.

Brynäs had a 1–2 deficit against Swiss Bern to turn around in the return leg in the round of 16.

It was a huge drama. The team overcame a 1–3 deficit in the match and when Oskar Lindblom shot 4–3 with the goalkeeper picked out and 56 seconds left, it meant a tie on aggregate.

Then team captain Johan Larsson decided the game when he scored 5–3 in overtime.

Brynäs will face Kalpa or ZSC Lions in the quarterfinals, which will be played on December 2 and 16, respectively.

Luleå lost 3–4 to Brno, but advanced with a total score of 9–6.

A positive for the Norrbottenslaget was that new defenseman Otto Leskinen was finally able to make his debut after his knee surgery. Leskinen, who has NHL credentials, was injured when he was signed from Tappara in May.

Luleå has had a tough season so far and is only in eleventh place in the SHL.

Isac Hedqvist, Heikki Liedes and Pontus Andreasson scored the goals for Luleå, who face either Ilves or German Bremerhaven in the quarter-finals.

Frölunda narrowly advanced with a 4–3 aggregate win against Grenoble.

The SHL league leader won the away match 3–1 – but fell at home in Scandinavium 1–2 and in the final seconds Grenoble pressured the home team hard.

Arttu Ruotsalainen scored Frölunda's goal, the leading goal to 1–0.

The quarter-finals await the winner between Ingolstadt and Salzburg.
