A strike notice that threatened the deliveries of snus to stores around the country has been withdrawn. The notice concerned the company SMD Logistics, which had terminated a collective agreement with the Food Workers' Union. But now the parties have agreed on a new agreement.
"SMD will, as of April 1, 2025, be a member of both the Swedish Trade Federation and the Food Industry Association, which means that a collective agreement exists and deliveries will continue as usual", says Ida Forsén, chief negotiator at SMD Logistics, in a press release.
SMD Logistics, which was previously owned by Swedish Match, stores and distributes most of the snus and tobacco in Sweden.
