Summer's first full moon occurs on Tuesday evening. This year it is unusually low over the horizon, which makes it perceived as extra large and can have a light pink tone. As low as "strawberry moon's" path has not been in 20 years, and next time it is only in 2043.
Both the sun and the moon appear larger near the Earth. It is not larger, but appears to be so for the brain is deceived, says space physicist Patrik Nordqvist to P4 Västerbotten.
The moon is as full at half past ten in the evening on June 10, but can also be seen in the evening of June 11.
