Storm Amy Hits Ireland: 230,000 Lose Power Amid Severe Weather

Floods, fallen trees and traffic disruptions affect Ireland as storm Amy moves forward with full force. 234,000 households around the island have lost their power.

In Letterkenny, in northern Ireland, a man has died after a weather-related incident, according to the police, The Irish Times reports.

Warnings for strong winds still applied on Friday evening for several areas on the island.

Around 60 flights from Dublin Airport have been cancelled.

The extreme weather has also moved in over Norway's southwestern coast during the evening, where red and orange warnings for strong winds and heavy rain have been issued for several areas.

In Vestland, 2,500 people have lost power, NRK reports.
