The group reports an adjusted operating profit of 161 million euros for the third quarter of 2026. Expectations were 158.3 million euros, according to Bloomberg's compilation.

"The world continued to be characterized by uncertainty and geopolitical tensions. The conflict in Iran continued to drive up the costs of energy, logistics and other input goods," the company writes in its report.

Stora Enso has previously announced that it aims to spin off its Swedish forestry operations into a new listed company, which is expected to happen in the first half of 2027.

"Stora Enso's board of directors has approved a division plan for the separation," the company writes.
