Forest industry group Stora Enso has decided to list its Swedish forest holdings in a separate company on the Helsinki and Stockholm stock exchanges.

The new pure-play forestry company will be one of Europe's largest with 1.2 million hectares of forest with a value of 5.7 billion euros, equivalent to just over 60 billion kronor, according to a press release.

All shares in the new company will be owned by Stora Enso shareholders.

The plan is for the split to take place in the first half of 2027.
