A search of the premises revealed many bags containing cash, including Swedish kronor.

The women are suspected of eight bag thefts since November last year. They are believed to have picked up the bags from the conveyor belts while flying domestically and landing in Athens.

In the women's residence, bags containing clothes, shoes, wallets, and sunglasses were found. There were also cash in the form of, among other things, Angolan kwanza, Bulgarian lev, Polish zloty, South African rand, Russian ruble, and Swedish kronor.

It is not clear from the police's statement whether any Swedish bag owner has been contacted.
