On March 17, Gasometer opens in the gasometer built in 1899. The opening programme runs for four evenings.

"What we are creating for these evenings is unlike anything I have done before. These performances tell the story of how Gasometer is brought back to life," composer Jacob Mühlrad says in a press release.

Mühlrad works at the intersection of classical and contemporary music, with visual art by Alexander Wessely as a spectacular addition. Wessely has previously worked with artists such as The Weeknd and Rihanna.

“We are exploring what it means to work with the entire room instead of a fixed stage,” Wessely says.

In 2027, the Royal Swedish Opera will also move into parts of the Gasometer.
