Stock markets have had a gloomy outlook in recent weeks, with eight consecutive days of falling indices. However, this morning's pre-market trading points to rising indices, both in Stockholm and on the major European stock exchanges.
In the US, prices also fell on Friday, but on Wall Street the broad S&P 500 hit record highs as recently as Thursday.
On Asian stock exchanges, the arrows are mostly pointing up in overnight trading.
The oil price has not moved much this weekend. A barrel of North Sea oil costs $88.60 this morning.
