Engineering group Atlas Copco, whose order intake is unexpectedly high due to increased demand from the semiconductor industry, rose 4.4 percent.
Among other reporting companies, telecommunications operator Tele2 fell 4.6 percent, while major bank Nordea rose 0.8 percent.
Industrial group ABB has offered $5.5 billion for Rotork, which manufactures electric actuators, among other things. ABB fell 5.4 percent.
Globally, stock market sentiment is shaped by the fighting around the Persian Gulf - which is fuelling inflation and interest rate concerns - as well as worries about highly valued AI companies.
At the close in Stockholm, the London stock exchange was up while Frankfurt and Paris were down, as were two of the three major indexes in New York.
