The Stockholm Stock Exchange, undeterred by Monday night's decline in New York, opened in the red. The gains increased during the day, then slowed towards the end.
Most of the companies on the OMXS30 list closed higher. Mining company Boliden fared best, rising 4.1 percent. Index-heavy H&M rose 3.4 percent.
Ericsson, one of the most-traded stocks on the OMXS30 list, went in the opposite direction. The company fell 1.0 percent.
Among the smaller companies, contract manufacturer Hanza saw a sharp rise in its share price after, among other things, proposing an increased dividend in connection with the company's release of its financial statements. The share rose just over 15 percent.
The leading European stock exchanges rose, but not as much as in Stockholm.
