The Stockholm Stock Exchange closed unchanged on Wednesday. The appliance chain Clas Ohlson fell heavily after this morning's quarterly report.

At the close, the broad OMXS index was unchanged after a rise at the end of the trading day. The heaviest loser was the gadget chain Clas Ohlson, which fell 15.8 percent.

On the plus side of the large-cap list OMXS30 was the mining company Boliden, up 2.1 percent.

At the other end, online casino company Evolution fell 1.4 percent.

Wednesday's cautious trading follows the pattern of recent days from both the US and leading stock exchanges in Asia, where trading has been cautious in anticipation of Wednesday evening's interest rate announcement from the US Federal Reserve (Fed).

The market and economists expect a reduction of a quarter of a percentage point.

At the close in Stockholm, price movements were also relatively small on the stock exchanges in Frankfurt, London, Paris and New York.

One dollar costs 9.31 kronor on Wednesday and one euro costs 10.85 kronor.
