Stockholm Stock Exchange rises broadly, OMXS up 0.7 percent in early trading

Among the heavyweights, mining group Boliden and clothing chain H&M are up 2.3 and 1.5 percent respectively, but the rise is broad, with 28 of 30 OMXS30 shares in positive territory.

Ski resort group Skistar rises 5.4 percent after increasing its dividend and reporting a better booking situation for this year's winter than last year.

The upward trend is also visible on leading European stock exchanges.

Reports of increased traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, despite the war between Iran and the US, and Wednesday's fall in crude oil prices are contributing to the development.

Wall Street closed lower last night after long-term market interest rates in the US hit their highest levels since 2002.

This afternoon, the PCE inflation figure for August in the US will be released, an important basis for decision-making by the US central bank, the Federal Reserve (Fed).
