On the OMXS30 list of the most traded stocks, just over half of the shares rose. Engineering group Sandvik performed best, with a 3.4 percent gain. Mining equipment company Epiroc and ball bearing manufacturer SKF also performed strongly, up 2.9 and 2.2 percent, respectively.
Among the losers was mining group Boliden after a quarterly report. The share fell 5.7 percent. Game developer Evolution also fell, down 3.5 percent, after the company was hit with a termination fee after a scrapped merger agreement.
On the leading European stock exchanges in London, Paris and Frankfurt, there were green numbers by the Stockholm close.
There are also happy faces on Wall Street, where all three major indexes are up.
