The broad index OMXS rose 0.7 percent, and the large-cap index OMXS30 increased 0.8 percent. Best in OMSX30 went the mining company Boliden and clothing giant H&M, up 4.8 and 2.8 percent respectively.
Downward pulled among others truck manufacturer Volvo, minus 0.7 percent, and major bank Nordea, which retreated 0.6 percent.
The increase on the Stockholm Stock Exchange followed after a Tuesday in a minor key in both Europe and on Wall Street. OMXS then fell 2.2 percent.
In the currency market, the krona strengthened slightly against both the dollar and the euro, which at the close of trading cost 11 kronor exactly. The dollar exchange rate fell back to 9.42 kronor.
