In Europe, London and Frankfurt have traded in line with Stockholm, Paris has hovered around zero. In the USA, Wall Street's three leading indexes have fallen in early trading.
On Monday, the stock players pointed upwards overall, in both Europe and the USA. This despite some concern that politicians in the USA will not manage to agree on the state budget, with the risk of shutdown of the state apparatus as a result.
The oil price has continued to be pressed due to signals of an increased supply on the world market. A barrel of North Sea oil now costs around 66 dollars.
