Stockholm Stock Exchange set for quiet open after days of declines

Yesterday, Stockholm closed close to zero after falling for ten days in a row, albeit in very modest steps.

And it appears to continue on that path, according to pre-market trading on IG Markets, among others.

US stock markets rose slightly yesterday evening after the US Treasury reshuffled its loan portfolio in an attempt to bring down long-term bond yields. Futures trading points to cautiously rising prices when Wall Street opens this afternoon.

Asian stock markets have generally risen overnight.

The dollar weakened as a result of the interest rate operation. One dollar costs 9.44 this morning, compared with more than 9.50 yesterday.

The oil price is hovering around the same levels as before, at about $91.70 a barrel of North Sea oil.
