At the close, the broad OMXS index indicated a plus of 1.1 percent, and the OMXS30 index with the 30 most traded shares on a plus of 0.9 percent. The leading European stock exchanges were also on the plus, although not as much as in Stockholm.
Among the companies in the OMXS30, the cloud service company Sinch and the heat pump manufacturer Nibe took the lead with increases of 5.5 and 3.0 percent, respectively. Only four of the 30 companies declined, among them the defense group Saab accounted for the largest decline with a minus of 2.1 percent.
Today's big winner on the Stockholm Stock Exchange's broad index is the smaller consulting company Projektengagemang, plus 113 percent, after Sweco made a bid on the company.
The generally happy stock market mood can be partly explained by Tuesday's positive American job data, which shows that the labor market in the US is keeping up the pace. This caused both the US stock exchanges and the Asian stock exchanges to rise during Tuesday evening and the past night.
The krona is traded at 9.58 against the dollar and 10.95 against the euro.
