Stockholm Stock Exchange Sees Modest Gain Led by H&M

The Stockholm stock exchange traded modestly upwards on Wednesday, the broad OMXS index closed at a plus of 0.1 percent.

On the large company list OMXS30, the increase was led by clothing giant H&M which climbed 2.3 percent. Telia closed at a plus of 1.3 percent, while Handelsbanken ended at a plus of 1.2 percent.

It went worse for technology solution company Addtech which fell 2.6 percent. Gaming company Evolution lost 2.5 percent and venture capital company EQT ended the day at a minus of 1.6 percent.

Later in the evening, at 8 pm Swedish time, the US central bank Federal Reserve will announce an interest rate decision where the market has priced in a reduction of the interest rate by 0.25 percent. Cautious movements have characterized trading on Wall Street during the day.

At the close in Stockholm, the exchanges in Frankfurt and London had also traded cautiously upwards, while Paris fell back slightly. Two out of three major indexes on Wall Street are also in the plus.
