Nordea Leads Gains on Cautious Stockholm Stock Market

The Stockholm stock exchange traded slightly upwards on Thursday, the OMXS index closed at a plus of 0.3 percent.

Major bank Nordea released its quarterly report in the morning and exceeded the analysts' expectations, the stock rose 3.2 percent and thus tops the OMXS30 index.

Industrial conglomerate ABB also reported stronger than expected, but the stock fell back in the afternoon and pointed to a minus of 1.4 percent at closing.

Investor and Kinnevik also released reports in the morning. Investor fell back 0.3 percent while Kinnevik surged, up 9 percent.

Also in Europe, it was mostly upwards. Paris had climbed 1.3 percent when trading closed in Stockholm, Frankfurt pointed to a plus of 0.4 percent, while London fluctuated around zero.

The oil price is at a relatively low 62 dollars for a barrel of North Sea oil.

The krona is quoted at 9.42 against the dollar, while you have to pay 10.99 for a euro.

Trading on Wall Street pointed upwards in the initial Thursday trading, with all leading indices on plus.
