Astra Zeneca rose after new information that no merger with a competitor is planned. The pharmaceutical company, which plunged on Monday after the Financial Times reported that a merger with Bristol Myers Squibb was under discussion, rose 2.3 percent after Reuters reported the opposite on Wednesday.
Also moving up on the OMXS 30 large-cap list was the mining company Boliden, which rose 2.5 percent.
At the other end were Tele2, down 2.7 percent, and major bank Nordea, which fell 2.3 percent.
The oil price has turned downward again. A barrel of North Sea oil now costs just over 79 dollars.
