On the large-cap list OMXS30, engineering giant Sandvik finished at the top along with private equity company EQT, both up 2.6 percent.
Telecom operators Tele2 and Telia ended up at the bottom, down 2.9 and 2.2 percent respectively.
There were also gains on stock markets in Europe, where London, Paris and Frankfurt all closed in the green.
There were only small movements in the commodities market. A barrel of North Sea oil cost 73 dollars at 5:30 p.m.
The Stockholm Stock Exchange is up 5.3 percent since the turn of the year.
