The Stockholm Stock Exchange is expected to begin the last trading day of the week with gains.

At 7 a.m., early trading on IG Markets points to slight gains. In Europe, futures trading is pointing higher, with the European large-cap index Euro Stoxx 50 up 0.4 percent in pre-market trading.

During the morning, both the Tokyo and Hong Kong stock exchanges are trading lower, while the stock exchanges in mainland China remain closed for the weekend. On Wall Street, futures are pointing slightly higher after yesterday's close in the red.

For the Stockholm Stock Exchange, it can be noted that before the stock exchange opens, Statistics Sweden will publish final inflation figures for January. In the US, there will also be a focus on inflation, with the key PCE inflation figure due in the afternoon.

The oil price continues to strengthen, with Brent crude trading just over $72 a barrel.
