On the large-cap index OMXS30, seven of the 30 most traded stocks rose. The index lost 0.5 percent, and among those that fell the most were mining company Boliden and telecom company Ericsson, with declines of 2.9 and 2.5 percent respectively.
Clothing giant H&M continued Monday's decline and now also closed down 2.5 percent.
In the opposite direction, pharmaceutical company Astra Zeneca excelled, up 1.2 percent, while Swedbank and Handelsbanken both rose 0.8 percent.
Steel company SSAB fell 5.3 percent during its capital markets day. Volvo Cars, which just released sales figures for October, fell 4.8 percent.
E-commerce company Boozt reported a rise instead, 1.5 percent.
The major European stock exchanges were also mostly depressed. Frankfurt and Paris were clearly down at the close in Stockholm. In London, things were slightly up.
In New York, at the same time, the three major indexes were more or less blood red.
