Stockholm Pride Festival Highlights: A-Teens Reunion and More

A-Teens make their first Sweden performance in 20 years, Peter Jöback sings this year's Pride song and the program is full of exhibitions and concerts. On Monday, Stockholm Pride gets underway – here are some of the highlights in the culture and entertainment offerings.

Monday 28 July:

Actors read excerpts from Adam Cronstedt's upcoming feature film "Klipporna vid havet", which is about a young boy's search for love one summer on Åland. The reading is done by, among others, Bengt Braskered and Carla Sehn.

Tuesday 29 July:

Sweden's museum of the Holocaust shows Magnus Gertten's award-winning documentary film "Nelly & Nadine", about two women who fall in love in the Ravensbrück concentration camp. Gertten is on site to talk about the film.

Location: Pride House, Clarion Hotel Sign.

”A place for us – a Pride concert”. During a musical evening, the audience is offered a potpourri of queer-interpreted classics, iconic numbers from hbtq-musicals and songs written by queer authors.

Location: Maximteatern.

The authors behind the thriller "Ynglingamorden" hold a conversation about historical queer stories and source material from the dassböckerna.

Wednesday 30 July:

Preview of Darren Thornton's comedy "Four mothers", starring James McArdle and Fionnula Flanagan in the lead roles.

Location: Biograf Victoria.

Pride Park is inaugurated with speeches and choir singing. Probably, Peter Jöback will perform this year's Pride song "The spectrum of love" this day.

Location: Östermalms IP.

Thursday 31 July:

Actor Björn Kjellman leads "Schlagerkvällen" together with artists such as Nanne Grönvall, Ella Tiritiello, Annika Wickihalder and Tess Merkel.

Friday 1 August:

Concerts with, among others, Julia Lov and Silvana Imam.

Saturday 2 August:

Exhibition: "I utsökt sällskap". The artist Niklas Blomkvist portrays the art collector and ballet director Rolf de Maré and his time in queer environments at the turn of the 20th century.

Location: Hallwylska museet.

A-Teens, who reunited last year, make their first Sweden performance in 20 years.

"This will be an emotional reunion and we are incredibly happy and proud that it is Stockholm Pride that welcomes us", the group writes on Instagram.
