A police officer active in the Stockholm area has been detained since the spring, suspected of a large number of sex crimes against children, reports TV4 News.

This is about 22 suspected crimes – rapes, sexual assaults against children, sexual harassment and exploitation of children for sexual posing – which are said to have been committed on the internet in 2024 and 2025.

Currently, we have around ten plaintiffs and I do not rule out that the case may grow with a few more, says chief prosecutor Åsa Ideström to TV4.

It was in January this year that the police received a report of a sex crime against a child. The suspicions were eventually directed against a police colleague and the department for special investigations was involved. The man, who is in his 30s, could be arrested in April.

The case began with a report from a guardian and grew after raids with seizures of computers and phones from the suspect, says Åsa Ideström to TV4.
