The total cost of the expansion to Barkarby, Solna, Nacka and Älvsjö now amounts to SEK 99.8 billion - SEK 22.9 billion more than there is funding for, Mitti writes.
The project most likely to run into liquidity problems is the Barkarby project. There is a shortage of SEK 2.5 billion, and parts of it need to be in place by the end of the year, Per Ling-Vannérus, head of administration at the administration for the expanded metro system (FUT), tells the newspaper.
The timetable is also being pushed back. One year for the metro to Barkarby and Arenastaden (to the end of 2028 and 2029 respectively), and just under two years for Nacka and Söderort (to the first quarter of 2032). For Älvsjö, work is expected to start in 2037.
