"We know that running is hot, but the interest we have seen this year is unlike anything we have ever experienced (...) Absolutely unparalleled," says Mats Hedenström, operations manager at Marathongruppen.
This is the third year in a row that the Stockholm marathon has been sold out, but in previous editions, registrations have not come in as quickly.
Ahead of the race earlier this year, 23,700 runners were registered, but ahead of the Stockholm Marathon 2026, more registrations have been received, pointing towards a new participation record.
