Registration for the running classic closed earlier this summer after 21,000 runners had signed up. At 9 a.m. on Monday morning, registration reopened, and the approximately 4,000 remaining starting spots were snapped up in a flash.
The most recent edition of the Stockholm Marathon, in May this year, sold out in early November last year. In the end, there were 20,302 starters, of whom 18,921 finished - a record in both categories.
Stockholm Marathon 2027 will be held on May 29.
