The County Administrative Board in Stockholm says no to a new environmental zone in the city. The reason is that the authority assesses that there are deficiencies in the study.

Stockholm City Council decided last autumn to introduce an environmental zone class 3 in part of the city, to address air pollution from traffic. Several actors have however appealed the decision to the County Administrative Board.

Now the authority has said no to the environmental zone, but due to the deficient study, the County Administrative Board has not made an assessment of whether it is right or not to introduce an environmental zone class 3 within the current area.

Stockholm City can now appeal the County Administrative Board's decision to the Transport Agency, alternatively make a new and more comprehensive study for an environmental zone class 3.
