There should be clearly marked places where approved musicians can perform at specific times, according to the proposal.
The inspiration comes from London and Paris, where systems for street musicians on public transport are already in place. The proposal also draws parallels with the prominent role of art in the Stockholm subway. The Chamber of Commerce believes music should have a place there too.
“We think it would make the journey a little more pleasant and Stockholm a little more fun,” says Frans Elinder, an urban development expert at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, in a press release.
You are not allowed to play music on the subway without written permission. Otherwise, you risk being turned away.
