At the top of the large-company list was measurement technology company Hexagon, up 1.5 per cent, followed by heat pump maker Nibe, up 1.4 per cent.
At the other end was mining group Boliden, which fell 2.9 per cent.
Nvidia's stock rose in futures trading after a strong report on Wednesday evening and was up just over 7 per cent after Wall Street opened.
The price of North Sea oil (Brent) turned upward and at 5:30 p.m. was around $89 per barrel after having fallen to around $86 per barrel during morning trading.
