The Stockholm Stock Exchange is starting the trading week up across the board, in line with major stock exchanges around the world. The OMXS index has risen 0.5 percent within minutes of the open.

The Wallenberg sphere's venture-capital company EQT is among the index-heavy winners, up 3.3 percent.

Strong gains on Wall Street on Friday have injected a new dose of risk appetite among investors. In Tokyo, the market rejoiced over a convincing election victory for Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, lifting the Tokyo Stock Exchange by almost 4 percent.

Precious metals continue to recover after a turbulent week in the wake of President Donald Trump's nomination of Kevin Warsh as the new head of the US Federal Reserve. Gold prices rose 1.4 percent, returning above $5,000 an ounce (31.1 grams) for the first time in February.
