Defense group Saab rose 1.6 percent after news that Brazil may consider buying an additional 20 Gripen planes.
But Broadcom, whose shares fell nearly 14 percent in early trading on Wall Street, is weighing on technology stocks. Telecom manufacturer Ericsson fell 2.2 percent. Telecom and internet operators Telia and Tele2 fell 1.3 and 1.8 percent, respectively.
Reports of a possible ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon - conditional on Iran-backed Hezbollah ceasing attacks on Israel - have pushed the price of North Sea oil (Brent) to $95 per barrel.
On Wall Street, the Nasdaq was the main loser, with the technology-heavy index down 0.3 percent at 5:30 p.m. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.7 percent and the broad S&P 500 was up 0.2 percent.
The Stockholm Stock Exchange's OMXS index has risen 4.5 percent since the turn of the year.
