Stock market opens slightly lower

The stock market opened the last trading day of the week slightly lower. After a few minutes of trading, the OMXS index had fallen 0.1 percent, in line with declines on major stock exchanges in Asia and Europe.

Engineering group Atlas Copco is going against the grain and rising 1.1 percent after analysts at Nordea raised their recommendation to "buy".

Among the most traded shares, mining group Boliden's share fell 2.4 percent and truck manufacturer AB Volvo fell 0.9 percent.

Thursday's technology rally - which gained momentum after new and unexpectedly strong forecasts from Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer TSMC for 2026 - ebbed on Wall Street on Thursday evening, local time in Sweden.

At the same time, geopolitical unrest is simmering in the market after Fox News reported that a U.S. aircraft carrier is moving to the Middle East amid recent unrest around Iran.

The Stockholm Stock Exchange's OMXS index rose 1.7 percent on Thursday. Since the beginning of the year, the OMXS index has been up 3.9 percent.
