Pre-trade indicates lower indices when the Stockholm Stock Exchange opens after the midsummer weekend. The major European exchanges are also heading for a red opening. In the US, futures also point to lower prices when trading begins this afternoon.
In Asia, markets are mixed. Tokyo is up 1.7 percent this morning local time in Sweden, while Hong Kong has fallen just over 1 percent.
The price of North Sea oil has again fallen below $80 per barrel.
