A few minutes after opening, the stock exchange's broad OMXS index was up 0.3 percent.
On the OMXS30 large-cap list, telecom operators Telia and Tele2 were leading with gains of 1 percent. Mining group Boliden was trading at the bottom, down just over 1 percent.
The price of oil rose slightly during the morning. A barrel of North Sea oil was trading just under $102.
The Stockholm Stock Exchange's broad OMXS index closed up 0.7 percent yesterday. The New York Stock Exchange also closed in the green.
