On the OMXS30, which tracks the most-traded shares, mining company Boliden and clothing giant H&M were at the top, up 3.1 and 2.5 percent respectively. At the bottom, heat pump manufacturer Nibe lost a whopping 13.1 percent.

US President Donald Trump's speech to the nation overnight had little market impact. SEB's senior economist Robert Bergqvist wrote on X that the biggest surprise in the speech was that there was a "complete absence of surprises".

At the close in Stockholm, the stock exchanges in Frankfurt, London and Paris were also up. In New York, all three major indices climbed.

After Wednesday's stock market close in the US, semiconductor giant Nvidia, the world's most valuable listed company, is set to release its quarterly report.
