At the end of last week, Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff announced that Rasmus Dahlin had traveled home to Sweden for personal reasons and will be gone indefinitely.
"Hockey is our job, it's our lifeline. But family and private life always come before everything else," he said at a press conference.
On Monday, Dahlin participated in a training session with the SHL team Frölunda, reports journalist Henrik Leman on X. Leman also writes that the star defenseman's plan is to return to his NHL team.
Absolutely, my career is moving forward, Dahlin is said to have told Leman.
The break from the NHL season is about the fiancée's previous heart failure.
During a summer trip to France, Carolina Matovac suffered sudden heart failure and needed CPR. She was on life support for several weeks before undergoing a heart transplant.
Rasmus Dahlin has been selected for Tre Kronor's team for the Olympics in Milan in February.
