Sting has paid royalties to Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland of The Police. According to the BBC, the amount is £647,000, approximately 8 million kronor.

The former bandmates sued Sting last year, claiming he owed them between £1.5 million and £8 million in royalties from songs like "Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take."

Although they are not co-writers of the songs, they claim that the band made a verbal agreement in 1977 to share the proceeds. The agreement was formalized in writing in 1981 and states that although Sting was the main creator of the band's songs, Summers and Copeland contributed important parts, such as Summers' guitar solo on "Every Breath You Take."

The band split up in 1984 after disagreements on both an artistic and personal level.
